So life being imperfect is a given and accepting that truth is often the first step to contentment.
Once it is accepted, that’s when you get to experience the sweetest nectar that life has to offer. You are then put in the driving seat of your world. And all those childhood wishes, pipe dreams and grand plans you once made can be gathered together for what could be your piece de résistance. Where you might have an array of different mechanical parts lying around your living room, you could sit in the middle of the mess in the knowledge that you’ll never be able to make that dream bike or dream car you’ve always wanted. Instead, with a little tinkering, you might just find that you create a modest little invention that gives you a sense of triumph you’d never imagined. And not only that, you’ve made some space in your living room where you can sit and watch the world happily chug away, through your open window.

View from your crib
Once you accept the jokers among the jacks you’ve been dealt with in life, the whole charade becomes a game. You choose which direction you’ll take next, which door to knock on, who to speak to for advice on your new venture instead of running it past the same pessimistic people telling you it just can’t be done. Maybe you’ll be the one to prove them wrong one day, because you’ve had the right idea, just in the wrong place. And perhaps all you need is a different place to put it.
Newton’s famous physics law: “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction,” doesn’t just have to be applicable to the world of atoms and molecules, but choosing a different reaction to the same old people and places, although difficult in the moment, can open up tiny crevices in your universe you never knew existed and lead you to a whole other realm.
You can sit miserably and watch how the other half live or you can create your own magical mystical world, build your own little empires and if they fall, which in time they most probably will, you can sit comfortably knowing that they existed. For no thing is eternal. No high flying career, no empire big or small, no one life. So while you still have air in those lungs, share a bit of your uniqueness with the rest of the world. Sit in the driving seat and push all those nifty buttons buttons in life and cruise on in by in your self-created, imperfectly perfect reality you can call your own.
